Great news. In the next few weeks they are going to put the unsightly electricity wires underground
Today I went to my local garden centre in Thirsk (they do very good food and coffee there) . You can imagine my surprise to walk in through their festive Christmas shop and three pairs of black eyes were looking at me. Yes they have three reindeer staying until Christmas Eve. The one in the picture below is called Twiggy. They certainly helped to put me in the Christmas mood.
We woke to a sprinkling of snow this morning. It was lovely and later the sun came out - it has almost gone now.
“Lovely cosy and private apartment in a very picturesque village, perfect for exploring Yorkshire. Diana was a great host, very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was well stocked with milk, tea, coffee and even some cakes which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again.."
This was from George who stayed one night with his girl friend. They really appreciated the wood burning stove.
The sun is pouring into my windows highlighting the Autumn colours on the leaves. There is something special about this time of year. In a moment I will take my dogs for a walk. No sign of storm Abigail yet though I am noticing it's getting windier as I write. I am lucky living here.
Congratulations to Thirsk TIC winning the visitor information award at the White Rose awards 2015.
