From 6th- 8th May and 13th-15th May, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is looking forward to welcoming steam enthusiasts and families alike for two great weekends during its Spring Steam Gala.
The event will see a number of visiting steam locomotives on the iconic NMYR line, including 4144 ’‘Large Prairie’ Tank, which was built a staggering 51 years ago in 1965, 80072 ‘Standard’ Tank, which was designed by Engineer R.A.Riddles, and 1054 ‘Coal Tank’, the last surviving member of its class. Home fleet locomotives making an appearance include 45428 ‘Eric Treacy’ and 76079.
During the event visitors can pass through and explore iconic railway stations including Pickering Station, Goathland Station and Grosmont Station, all of which serve tasty refreshments and have an onsite gift shop where guests can purchase a souvenir to symbolise their fantastic day out.
